12/10/13

A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!
THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY, USING PREVIOUS MET OFFICE CLIMATE STATION EXPERIENCE. FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE.   Unexpectedly good for clear skies both yesterday & overnight, so as a consequence, temperatures a bit up yesterday afternoon, but a sharp frost to pay for the overnight clear skies.
Earlier forecasts had expected more cloud coming in from the North Sea on a NE breeze. There are areas of low cloud not too far away now, at 0800.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
Current thoughts favour another day with generous amounts of sunshine. Winds will be light to moderate from the E to NE. Temperatures should reach around 11 or 12, after a very nippy start to this morning.  Don't be surprised to see some areas of misty low cloud around, especially later in the day & in some parts of the region, cloud could predominate over sunshine (especially close to the East Coast ).  Tonight----staying dry, perhaps more cloud & probably more limited frost compared with the previous 2 nights.
