A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!
THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY, USING PREVIOUS MET OFFICE CLIMATE STATION EXPERIENCE. FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE.
Yesterday's maximum of 18.4, resulting from more sunshine than predicted in a warm southerly airflow,  was close to the record October maximum of 18.6 recorded in 1997.  Meanwhile, Kinloss--well sheltered by the Cairngorms in moist southerlies, topped 19.9.
TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
Mainly cloudy, though dry for much of the time. There will, however, be rain further west, which may give an odd spit locally & a more organised band of rain later in the day. Winds will be light S to SW, with top temperatures up to 17 (20 on the southern shores of the Moray Firth ). Dry & mild overnight.

LOCAL AREA OUTLOOK

TUESDAY---Dry, but rather cloudy in the main, with just a few sunny intervals.  Winds will be force 4 from the W & highest temperatures will be down somewhat, reaching 14 at best.

WEDNESDAY----Winds now in the NW, so feeling much cooler. A few showers around, but dry for much of the time with sunny intervals. Top temperatures struggling to make double figures.

FURTHER OUTLOOK---A good deal of dry weather with some sunshine, but feeling cold in fresh N to NW winds. Frost likely at night, at least on the ground.
