Most of us in our "mature" years, generally seek out those places, when on holiday, that guarantee to have a relaxing quality.

Relaxing was temporarily put on hold when we visited this particular spot, because this is in Nuremburg & is the venue where Hitler held a number of his rallies in the 1930's.(The balcony where he stood for these occasions can be seen half-way down the left-hand side.)  The same city is also remembered for the Nazi Trials that followed soon after the end of World War 2.

All this happened relatively recently. For those of us close to 70, this war was only just finishing when we were born, a war in which many of our fathers were involved & in some cases gave their lives.

After leaving this spot provoking sad reflection, it was quickly time to remember that Germany & most of Europe are very different places today, anxious to avoid what happened twice in the relatively recent past.
