Our 3rd & final port of call in Iceland was at AKUREYRI, known as the "capital & jewel of the North"
It lies at the head of the longest & narrowest inlet in the region, only 60 miles inside the Arctic Circle.
It has daily flights to Reykjavik, 272 miles to the south west, taking 50 mins. The bus takes 6 hours!

The photograph shows the GODAFOSS (The Falls of the Gods), just over30 miles to the east of Akureyri.
