A fresh scattering of snow near the summit of Ben Vrackie. Today's weather charts have a mid-winter look to them, with numerous isobars round a deep low near SW England. Today will be mostly cloudy, with rain at times, often fairly light, but with some moderate outbreaks too. There should also be some dry spells, as the highest rainfall totals are reserved for areas further to the NE of Pitlochry. Temperatures will be below average, with a maximum of only 8 or 9 degrees, while winds blow from the NE, sometimes up to force 5. TONIGHT will be cloudy, with further rain on occasions.
