The first few days of the month will be mainly dry with some sunshine, but some cool nights.
Thereafter, the first half of May is likely to be more unsettled, with some rain & below average temperatures, including the odd overnight frost.
Changeable conditions are likely during the 2nd half of the month, with showers & a few longer spells of rain, though amounts no more than average. There will be drier & brighter spells too, giving normal amounts of sunshine for May.Winds will often be from a NE quarter, resulting in temperatures near or a little below the May normal.
(The shelter provided by the Cairngorms may benefit Pitlochry in the situation outlined, but overall, doesn't sound too exciting, with no heat waves in the offing!!---MY COMMENT)
