                        SOME JANUARY EXTREMES

January 1993 was Pitlochry's wettest of any month in a 60-year record.  273mms fell
10.75 inches).

January 1963 should be one of the months of the 20th Century that features in many people's memories, (principally for severity).  However, it is also features in the records for being the driest January in the 60-year record (11mms or 0.42inches).
During December 2013, 10 DAYS in the month were wetter than this monthly total.

In January 1982, both the record for the coldest day & coldest night were recorded.
The coldest day only reached -10.9, with -19.6 for the coldest night. ( This was the time
that the British record of -27.2 was recorded at Braemar )
