THURS 15th JAN

A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!

THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY

Not enough rain nor mild air overnight to rid us of yesterday's lying snow.Rainfall total (including melted snow) has shot up from 44mm to 141mm in a week.
It would appear that we are "cut off" from Inverness both by road & rail, though I understand that the "Highland Chieftain" bravely left Inverness at 0820 (25mins late) on its near 600 mile journey south. Good luck to all aboard & those waiting at Pitlochry (wonder if they're still doing bacon rolls on board by that time!!)        UPDATE---was 75mins late at Pitlo, but at least did its best in adverse conditions!
NB  FROM MARCH, EAST COAST BECOMES VIRGIN EAST COAST
