A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!

THIS TIME LAST YEAR

SNOW fell on each day from the 9th to the 13th back in 2011, the greatest depth being 3cms. On the 12th, the highest temperature only reached 2.4 degrees.

It was also a much more unsettled period, with the barometer around 25mbs lower than today's reading. The rainfall total between the 8th & the 11th was a greater amount than during  the entire period between Feb 1st to March 10th this year.

TODAY

Although, in theory, today will go down in the record books as being "on the mild side", many may have described today as "chilly"  "fresh" or "on the cold side."
It has actually been about 1.3 degrees ABOVE the mid-march normal, but 2 factors have combined to make the "feels like factor"somewhat lower.  Firstly a moderate to fresh west wind & secondly relatively dry air. A day with similar temperature, but with light winds & humid air, would have felt milder.
