MON 26th JAN

A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!

THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY

I read an article in my Sunday newspaper yesterday headed  "HOW WE ARE BEING TRICKED WITH FLAWED DATA ON GLOBAL WARMING.
This is not the first time in recent months that I have seen such an article on "global warming denial" which flies in the face of what professional meteorologists & climatologists have come to accept as solid proven fact.

It has never been suggested that global warming means constant, steady temperature increase. It still allows for the odd severe winter or record-breaking cold month. I believe, for instance. that New York & surrounding areas are poised to have one of their worst snow storms ever!  It should be appreciated that there will undoubtedly be a warmer than average input of air into the storm system that is responsible for such weather.

I spend many hours watching weather & climate- related documentaries from various parts of the world & invariably the issues of retreating glaciers, melting ice sheets expanding deserts feature largely.

Of course, it would be a cheap & welcome answer for most nations on the planet nowadays if it could be conclusively established that global warming was not occurring & man therefore could carry on, industrially,as normal.
