Temperatures fell sharply during the evening (note below,-10.9 recorded by the ground thermometer resting just above the lying snow). Later on, increasing amounts of cloud & more in the way of a breeze arrested this fall in temperature, such that the day dawned above freezing. Very slight snow showers accompanied the increase in cloud overnight, but I for one, will leave it to nature to disperse what little extra snow fell!
