There should also be a few drier intervals.There may be some light & wet accumulations of snow by the end of  the day but perhaps more significant amounts by tomorrow morning. Snowfall is expected to be at its heaviest over easternmost parts of Perthshire & over inland & higher parts of Angus. It will be a cold day everywhere, with a force 4 or 5  E.wind & highest temperatures around 3 at best (normal around 8 to 9). More occasional snow around tonight, with temperatures close to zero.

LOCAL AREA OUTLOOK----Very cold for most of the week ahead, with winds in an easterly quarter, fresh at times.  Snow is likely to feature, more especially during Tuesday, but possibly again later in the week. Sharp frosts during overnight clear spells.
