HEADLINES @ 1600Hrs
The first part of the morning was very showery, with the showers heavy enough to bring partially melted snowflakes right down to town level. Not only Ben Vrackie saw some snowfall accumulation, but much of the higher ground too. The latter part of the morning & at times during the afternoon saw fewer showers.
The day's highest temperature was only 4.7, while 5.4mms of rain fell between 0900 &1600Hrs.
THIS EVENING & TONIGHT
The evening will see some clear intervals & perhaps one or two showers, with temperatures dropping during any clear spells (minimum around 2 ) During the night, an area of cloud & rain will spread from the SW, though the heaviest falls of rain will be further west than Pitlochry. It is likely to become windy.
WEEKEND
SATURDAY should be a milder day, with the thermometer up to around 11 or 12. It will be windy from the S or SW. It will be rather cloudy at times, with a little of the much heavier rain to the west filtering through to Pitlochry. There may also be some dry, brighter periods. SUNDAY is expected to be bright with some showers & colder than Saturday
