FRIDAY 1st AUGUST 2014

A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!
THE ONLY ONLINE WEATHER SERVICE WHERE THE OBSERVER LIVES & RECORDS IN PITLOCHRY, USING PREVIOUS MET OFFICE CLIMATE STATION EXPERIENCE. FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE.

JULY SUMMARY----Warm days & mild nights, Rainfall very close to normal, though much of it falling in the final week.   Hottest day 27.5 (25th), Coldest night  5.5 (6th). No day was cooler than 16.7, while 20days reached or exceeded 20.  No long-term records were broken, but it is likely that July this year will be remembered as a good one, certainly for tourists.  THE LAST 8 MONTHS HAVE ALL SEEN TEMPERATURES ABOVE NORMAL FOR SCOTLAND AS A WHOLE!!

YESTERDAY saw some localized very heavy downpours, while other places had very little.

Rather unsettled, with showers or some longer spells of rain, though at present it looks as though the first part of SATURDAY could remain dry, as well as the latter part of SUNDAY.
