It should be a largely dry day, with just the chance of a light shower during the afternoon. There should be some spells of sunshine, but as on recent days, there will tend to be a build- up of cloud during the afternoon. Winds will be from the N. mostly force 3 or 4 & it will feel very cool out of the sun & exposed to the wind. Maximum temperature around 8 degrees.  TONIGHT should be mainly dry with cloud breaks & every likelihood of a frost, minimum down to around -2 or lower in prone spots.

Much of today should be dry & bright with some sunshine, but it seems likely that there will again be a build-up of cloud during the afternoon, perhaps with an odd shower, probably only light. A chilly start, but some bright sunshine which should last during much of the morning. During the afternoon, cloud will start to bubble up & there is a risk of showers, especially around 1400hrs, as a band of cloudy, showery weather moves down from the north. Winds will be force 2 or 3 from the N or NNW & highest temperatures should reach around 9 or 10 degrees.  TONIGHT will be mainly dry with clear spells & a frost (it appears that the March warmth has now resulted in many plants being vulnerable to these April frosts, but only on the 5th, was the frost severe ---at a record -5.7)

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYThere was a generous share of the sunshine around & we were, for all intents & purposes, spared the worst of the showers. ( There were some heavy ones not too far away---but this is the nature of showers! )

Much of the morning should stay dry, but with time, cloud will start to bubble up, eventually giving showers in many places, though some lucky spots could escape most or all of these. Some of the showers could be heavy & thundery, with hail or sleet in them. On all higher ground, say above 400ms, snow will fall.  TONIGHT, showers will gradually die out to give clear spells & in some places, a frost is likely.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYA mainly cloudy morning, with a spell of lightish rain. Thereafter, a few fleeting glimpses of the sun, but cloud bubbled up with a shower around 1600/1630hrs.

A depression is sitting close by NE Scotland, leaving the country in a showery, though light NW airstream. Most ground above 400m will see some snow in the showers.

Cloud then bubbling up(cumulus & cumulonimbus) to give some sharp showers, perhaps with sleet/hail/thunder.  Some lucky spots could miss all or most of these.

Quite a lot of rain further to the S & SE but this is moving away, though leaving an overhang of cloud for a while. Later on, it becomes a sunshine & showers regime. We could stay mainly dry, with some sunny spells, but heaped up cloud will develop, giving some places heavy downpours, perhaps with hail or thunder & hill snow. Winds NW 2 or 3  with top temperatures about 9 degrees. TONIGHT should see any showers dying out, leaving clear skies & light winds. Temperatures will fall to around 1 to 3, so frost is possible in prone areas.
