SATURDAY---Yet again, an east/west split on cloud, so some cloudy spells locally, though a reasonable prospect of some breaks & some sunshine too. An outside chance of a slight snow flurry.Still feeling cold.


SUNDAY---The best of the sunshine further west, with places near the East Coast remaining mostly cloudy. Staying cold, as it will throughout next week.

Plenty of clear skies & sunshine over parts of Scotland at present (though scarcely any milder than here, at around 2 degrees)

You could shake off those "Winter Blues", for instance, with a quick run up the A9 to the other side of Drumochter!!

A large high pressure system over the North Sea is feeding cold continental air over Britain. The situation is unlikely to change much between now & the start of next week.

FRIDAY---Very similar to Thursday, so still feeling cold, though probably dry.


SATURDAY---Likewise, though possibly a slightly higher risk of a few snow flurries, amounting to very little.

A tranquil scene on a fine February day.(18th), as observed from the road between Moulin & the Golf Course.

 However, though still benign, today finds a layer of low cloud, which came in from off the North Sea linked to a weak cold front moving from east to west.
Temperatures have actually fallen during the last couple of hours & with a moderate SE wind & some drizzle in the air, there is a distinctly raw feel to things, accentuated by the disappointment of seeing a short taste of spring rudely stopped in its tracks

At this time last year, we were entering a mild, mainly dry spell to end February, including a record-breaking 15.1 degrees on the 23rd.   This was then followed by a dry & exceptionally mild March.
Things don't seem set to follow such a pattern this year!!.
