Nothing more encouraging on offer! It is likely to be rather cloudy for much of the time, with some scattered showers around & about.Some dry intervals, with the odd sunny spell are also likely, perhaps more so during the evening..Maximum temperatures will be pegged around 10 degrees, with force 2 or 3 winds, mainly from the east.   The stormy-looking nature of the pressure charts at present is more in keeping with mid-winter than April & there seems little prospect of anything better for the rest of the month.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYYet again, a showery regime---it seems ceaseless!! No great amounts of rain; the heaviest shower was around 1520. Several dry spells with sunny intervals. We again missed the worst of the showers.
THE GENERAL WEATHER PATTERN AROUND THE BRITISH ISLES
A depression over the Southern North Sea is filling & a new deeper one is making for the SW approaches. It means more cool, unsettled conditions in the days ahead.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRYCool & windy. with NE winds up to around force 5 or 6. Mainly rather cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain.

Still cool & showery with NE winds. Much of the morning should be mainly dry, with perhaps some sunny intervals. During the afternoon & evening, showers will have developed across the region & there will generally be more cloudy skies. Some of the showers may affect Pitlochry & there could be hail or thunder in any heavy ones. Equally, as on Thursday & Saturday, we may escape the worst of what's going. Best temperatures up to around 10 & winds light or moderate from the NE. TONIGHT, many of the showers will die out, leaving clear spells & temperatures only a couple of degrees above freezing.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYSunday proved more showery than Saturday & there was even a little hail observed.
THE GENERAL WEATHER PATTERN AROUND THE BRITISH ISLES
A low pressure system is centred over the English Channel. This will drift into the North Sea by tomorrow, only to be followed by another deep low into the SW. This leaves Scotland in cool NE winds & showery conditions in the week ahead.

Probably dry for the first couple of hours, but thereafter, there is again a shower risk. We may get very little, we may take a hit from a big shower & even sophisticated rainfall radar can't pinpoint, in advance, just who will catch what!. There will be some dry spells with sunny intervals, but temperatures will still be about 2 degrees down on the late April average.Winds light, mainly E or SE.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYWe had a surprisingly lucky day for missing showers, as once again, the region's radar chart was plastered with them. Still, as I always say, it's very much hit & miss with showers (misses on Thurs & Sat & a hit on Friday!)

1 low dying in the North Sea, a 2nd moving into the English Channel & a 3rd into the SW approaches by Wednesday. All a recipe for unsettled conditions, with cool E or NE winds for the week ahead.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRYAnother day of dry spells with some sunshine, interspersed with more cloudy bands with some showers. Still cool with a force 3 NE breeze.

This equipment was rarely used during March, but in April, it's come into its own again, with already 125% of average!

A rather unsettled day yet again, with largely cloudy skies & just a few sunny intervals in the drier spells. There are already showers around & more will develop, some being long-lasting & heavy. It is very much hit & miss & really unpredictable, as to what degree Pitlochry is affected (Thursday & Friday being contrasting examples of this). It will still be on the cool side & winds will be mainly light from an E quarter. Any late showers should die out after dark to leave clear spells & locally a touch of ground frost.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYAnother day of sunny intervals & showers, but unlike on previous days, Pitlochry took a hit from a larger, heavier shower around 1500 to 1700 which gave over 9 mms of rain. Temperatures were again down on average.

Low pressure is still sitting over Britain & although this particular system should move out into the North Sea tomorrow, another one is set to take its place, moving into the SW approaches by Monday. Thus things remain rather cool & unsettled in the outlook!

An overnight rain belt is now nearly through & there will be some dry interludes, perhaps with a few sunny intervals. However, several lines of showers are expected to move across from the E & it seems inevitable that a few will affect Pitlochry, especially during the p.m. period. There should, however, be some dry intervals with a glimpse of the sun, though hail/thunder are possibilities should we be in the path ot the worst of the showers. Maximum temperature 9or 10 & winds rather light & variable in direction.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYAnother day when Pitlochry largely escaped much of the rain & showers around the region, with places such as Blairgowrie & Perth with higher rainfall totals.

Low pressure will be either over or very close to Britain over the next 3 days, giving very variable amounts of rain from place to place, as bands of rain or showers move across from the east. It will remain rather cool.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRYThere will be some dry spells with sunny intervals around, but also some scattered heavy showers, especially p.m.  As usual, rainfall amounts will be very variable from one place to another. It will remain on the cool side of average, with force 2 or 3 winds from an E. quarter. SUNDAY'S weather remains a mixture of sunshine but with heavy showers round & about. Rather cool out of any sunshine.
