A fair amount of dry weather, with some intervals of sunshine, but some risk of the odd shower, especially as cloud builds somewhat during the afternoon. Even if Pitlochry remains dry, places not too far away may catch a sharp shower. Highest temperatures should reach about 10 degrees, with winds from the NE force 2 or 3. During the night, a spell of rain will spread across from the E, perhaps giving some significant totals & lasting into Friday morning.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYGenerally rather cloudy with just a few intervals of sunshine. We were again lucky in missing the worst of the showers, with again only a few light ones. It was yet again, on the cool side of the seasonal norm.

The centre of low pressure is over East Anglia & is influencing weather conditions throughout the U.K. Scotland is in a NE airflow, being on the north side of the low.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRYProbably a cloudy, wet start to Friday, following a rather wet night. As the day goes on, there should be a return of the sunny intervals & some scattered showers regime. Still cooler than normal.

Much of the day is likely to be rather cloudy, but there should be some sunny intervals too. The morning is expected to be mainly dry, with just the chance of an odd light shower. The afternoon & evening are more at risk from heavier showers, but as usual, in showery conditions, it's a case of hit & miss. Some spots are likely to receive a downpour, while others nearby, get little or no rain. Winds will be mainly from the E force 2 or 3 & maximum temperatures will peak at about 9, this about 3 degrees below average.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYSome wet snow for a time at first. The afternoon saw a few sunny intervals, though it was fairly cloudy overall. There were some heavy showers around, especially further south in the early evening, but Pitlochry largely escaped. Our heaviest shower was one around 2230. Rather cool yet again.

This afternoon should see some bright or sunny intervals, but there will also be some cloudy areas around with a few heavy showers. It will again be rather cool, with winds mostly from the SE.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYThe day was dry, but still on the cold side. The morning had the lion's share of the sunshine & it became rather cloudy at times during the afternoon & evening.

A very disturbed-looking weather chart this morning, with a deep depression just to the W. of Ireland. This is expected to move over the English Channel by tomorrow. Many parts of Britain are feeling the effects of the strong winds around the depression, but most of Scotland is not affected by these.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRYDry for much of the time, with some bright or sunny intervals, but the odd sharp shower is possible. It will still be a little on the cool side of average.

Winds will be force 2 or 3, settling into the SE. After dark, a spell of rain is expected, with perhaps some sleet or very wet snow , though accumulations are not expected at our altitude.There should be no frost.

A depression & its attendant fronts are moving towards Scotland & barometers across the country will start falling during today. There should be a significant fall of rain (perhaps some sleet) overnight & into tomorrow morning. Unsettled & cool in the further outlook.
TOMORROW'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRYIt's likely to be wet for some of the morning (snow on the highest ground). The more general rain should clear later in the morning leaving a few brighter intervals & perhaps a shower. Rather cold still, but as we are near the centre of the low, winds should be fairly light for the time being.

It should be a dry day, with only a small risk of a light shower during the afternoon. The morning should see a good deal of sunshine, though cloud is expected to be more in evidence this afternoon, while sunny intervals continue to occur. Maximum temperatures will still be 2 or 3 degrees down on mid-April average values. Winds will be mostly force 3 from the NW. TONIGHT should see long clear spells, with temperatures at or below freezing by dawn.

YESTERDAY IN PITLOCHRYIt still felt cold, out of any sunshine, but much of the day was dry. The best of the brightness came a.m. while part of the afternoon was rather cloudy. There were even a few slight showers. Temperatures fell quickly last evening.

A ridge of high pressure is now building in from the west, while low pressure covers much of Europe. This leaves us in a cool airflow, though there are fewer showers around.
