Rain has only recently reachd the area, but temperatures are already well above freezing following a frosty night.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
Cloudy & cold, with spells of rain or sleet for a time this morning. There should be a marked improvement later, as more broken cloud & some sunny spells spreads from the NW. The evening & night is expected to be clear & frosty.
MAX TEMP  4       WIND  NW 3 or 4      OVERNIGHT MIN TEMP   -3

With the incursion of milder air will come some rain, though amounts are likely to be greater in the west. Winds will settle into the SW & freshen to force 4 or 5.  It will become colder again overnight.

WEDNESDAY
Potentially a stormy day, when there are pospects of winds gusting to 50mph during the afternoon. Maps show a very steep pressure gradient from north to south, giving a rather cloudy, showery as well as windy day, with showers possibly turning sleety overnight.

PAST
Having noticed how so much frost lingered on the grass yesterday, it was quite a  surprise to find that by early evening, the indoor temperature receiver from outside, was actually showing 8.8 degrees
The thinnest of warm sectors was passing through, before the arrival of the first snow of the winter by morning!

PRESENT
Some sunny breaks around today, but don't expect the thermometer any better than about 2 or 3.
There will also be some snow showers around the region, though amounts actually settling are likely to be only a couple of millimetres unless you live at over around 250 to 300m. The breeze is likely to pick up & this will accentuate the windchill.

FUTURE
Looking generally unsettled & on the cold side of average (max temp around 3 or 4 & min temp near zero).
Windy on occasions, as deep low pressure centres affect the country.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
The morning will start cold, cloudy, though bright at times, with light winds & mainly dry. During the afternoon, occasional rain will arrive from the west, though this may be only light at times. It will, however, persist into the evening, when winds are expected to srengthen as a cold front approaches, bringing consequences for Sunday's weather.

SUNDAY
Feeling very cold, with a marked wind chill. It will be rather cloudy with a high probability that showers will be frequent & of a wintry nature (sleet or snow )  I think it unlikely, however,  that many of the town's population will be urgently engaged in snow clearing on this occasion, though an early look at next week's charts suggests some windy weather ahead & no positive signs of anything much milder.
