A great improvement on recent days, as an overnight front introduces improved visibility & drier air.
The day should see some cloud, but also some intervals of brighter weather with a little sunshine. However, by evening, cloud is expected to be increasing & this will remain overnight.

THE WEEK AHEAD

Apart from some rain overnight on Monday (important for introducing a colder air stream), the week ahead should be mainly dry, but colder, both by day & overnight when a slight frost becomes a probability. It will be rather cloudy on occasions, but there should be some sunny spells too. Visibility should be much improved on several days in late November. Winds will mostly blow within the range force 2 to 4.

Despite a mainly dry start to the morning with even some brightness, much of the next 24hrs will be dominated by low cloud, poor visibility & occasional, mainly light rain or drizzle.Sunshine is unlikely, though temperatures should hover round a respectable 8 or 9 for much of the time, including tonight.

THE WEEKEND
Much of the disturbed weather is well to the south in Mediterranean latitudes, while Britain remains in the " not much happening" zone.Little rainfall is likely to be added to the November total & probably most of that during Saturday morning which seems likely to be damp & overcast, though perhaps improving by afternoon.  Sunday should be the better day, though probably feeling a little colder.

Perhaps worth trying a broad-brush approach again, as no extremes are in the offing.
Things are expected to be generally quiet on the weather front, with only limited amounts of sunshine, though conversely, not much in the way of rain either. Winds will blow from a generally easterly quarter, though only light or moderate in strength. Later in the week, it will tend to become rather milder & frost seems unlikely on any night during the period.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
A vast improvement on yesterday, though cloudy skies dominating the scene at present. It should remain dry throughout, with some prospect of cloud breaks & even a little sunshine in the middle part of the day. Generally more cloudy again as the afternoon goes on.   Overnight, some rain is likely, more so further N & E than Pitlochry, but earlier fears of more substatial rainfall lasting into tomorrow have been modified for the better.
NEXT WEEK may well begin on an unsettled note, but prospects for later on & next weekend appear somewhat more positive at present. Stay tuned.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
The day is expected to be dry though stay cloudy(some showery rain is showing on the high ground to the NE of Pitlochry, but is most likely to remain in the same area).  Probably one of the better days for a bit of tidying up in the garden! Though mild, the E to SE wind could gust close to 40mph on occasions later today
MAX TEMP  9 or 10       WIND  E/SE 4 (some higher gusts later on)        OVERNIGHT MIN TEMP 8 or 9

FRIDAY & WEEKEND.
Overall very unsettled, with some prolonged & heavy spells of rain, giving large totals & putting rivers in spate.
Saturday may see rather less rain in total. Sunshine will be conspicuous by its absence. Temperatures should be above the average both by day & night, though Friday will see strong winds.

still occur, before it becomes completely dry later in the day.

An emphasis on unsettled westerly weather, with plenty of depressions & fronts crossing Britain, giving strong winds at times & highest rainfall totals in the west.
Is this backed up by the £97million computer or is that still in its box until Christmas?
