A rather more optimistic look about the day ahead, though it has to be said that the overall situation has changed little from that over the weekend. The general description that "west is best" will still apply & it is highly likely that the East Coast itself will remain vulnerable to misty low cloud, but at least things look more promising here. Temperatures should approach 10 today, while winds continue from E to SE force 3.
Overnight, some rain will move up from SSW & this will linger into Tuesday morning.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
OUTLOOK in PITLOCHRYUnfortunately, not very much change. But, being positive, how often have you had to use your snow-pusher in the last 4 months!
.
The start of British Summer Time, but sadly, no summery weather expected locally. Much of the day is expected to be overcast, largely dry, but cold with winds E to SE force 3. Any hint of brightness would tend to come late in the day & be short- lived. Max.temp 7 or 8. Little change overnight, with too much cloud for frost.
Western parts of Scotland should be brighter & less cold, but the best weather today is expected in Southern England & also in Lancashire, where the beach at Blackpool may be just the place to take mum for Mother's Day!

A WARM WELCOME TO PITLOCHRY WEATHER!
PITLOCHRY THIS WEEKEND
FRUSTRATING! The weather is expected to be overcast and cold with perhaps the odd spit of drizzle.
Winds will remain from the east importing the misery from off the North Sea which is at its coldest at this time of the year. There will be parts of Scotland which will fare better, generally those with good shelter by mountains to the east. For instance, it is already looking brighter at the other side of Drumochter tho' I would be surprised if locally, we have any more than transient brightness. Temperatures will not exceed 8 degrees with wind force 3 from the east. More overcast skies and patchy drizzle overnight.

TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY,
.
There was something of an over-optimistic start to the day, with plenty of sunshine; unfortunately, though not unexpectedly, things have gone downhill somewhat, with more in the way of cloud, setting the pattern for the day. There has been some rain around just to the SE of us, but is unlikely to affect us. Temperatures are unlikely to better 8 & winds will blow from an E quarter, force 3 to 4. Frost is unlikely tonight because of cloud cover, with some drizzle possible
WEEKEND in PITLOCHRY
Easterly winds in March, blowing off the North Sea at its coolest, is not the best of set-ups for Pitlochry, so cloud, often at low levels, occasional drizzle & low daytime temperatures are very much on the menu.
Western parts of Scotland will fare better, with shelter provided by the mountains. Many parts of England should see maximum temperatures in a range 17 to 19--particularly frustrating, having just returned from a cold & showery London.
