FRIDAY should see an improvement, with fewer showers & these mainly confined to the morning, with some brighter spells during the afternoon. Still feeling cold in the fresh SW wind. Temperatures overnight in low single figures (possibly a ground frost)
SATURDAY is expected to have a dry, bright morning, but a spell of mostly light rain is expected for a time p.m. Once again, a cold night with at least a ground frost likely.

Now, the total has shot up to over 103mms. Nearly a ground frost with me this morning. Some very attractive high level cloud on what looks a delightful start to Tuesday.

FORECASTING IS BASED ON MET OFFICE & BBC MATERIAL, WHICH IS THEN TAILORED FOR THE PITLOCHRY AREA, USING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE. My early impressions re. the storm in Southern England is --perhaps not quite as bad as it might have been. The Met Office have usually erred on the side of pessimism since the Oct 1987 storm, when they seriously under-estimated. At least we were told many days ago that Scotland wouldn't be affected.by this one.

However, radar evidence shows that this is fragmenting, so perhaps only a few showery outbreaks reaching Pitlochry & by afternoon, some spells of more broken cloud & some sunny intervals being the order of the day.
